Urdhva Mukha Paschimottanasana

Urdvha (upward)
Mukha (face)
When used together mean having the face pointed upward. Paschimottanasana (intense posterior stretch)

1. From ubhaya padangusthasana, release the toes and grab the outsides of the feet, without rolling forward or backward.

2. Keeping the legs stretched in the air, move the chest closer to the thighs and, if possible, rest the forehead on the knees.

If there is still more room, interlock the fingers beyond the extended feet, close the gap between the torso and legs even further.

Stay in this pose breathing deeply with a calm and peaceful mind. Enjoy the sweet stretch. To release, don’t flail out of it, but softly release the hands and bend the legs. Rest on the floor and relax
