>> The greenest bicycle of them all? Craig Calfee in Santa Cruz, Calif., creates bikes from bamboo, grown bonsai-style. Basically, the bamboo's forced to grow in the shape of a bike frame -- which cost $2,700 each, since every one's made to order. "If you grow it in the shape you want it, it's by far the strongest way to get it in the shape you want it," Calfee says.
