recently, my bedside table has gathered a towering stack of books on yoga practice and philosophy. these books have become my little treats at the end of the day. after an intense asana practice loaded with sun salutations, i delight in the wisdom of erich shiffmann who explains the benefits of each series in his book "moving into stillness." last week i concluded my evening of ecstatic chanting with keith borden at laughing lotus yoga center with a story about vishnu and narada in "ganesha goes to lunch." i found insight and practical theory in tim mccall's "yoga as medicine" holistic dictionary (as i like to call it) after my good friend asked me for advice about yoga postures for low back pain. finally, my dear friend and the lovely yogamates queen, kasey grasciously let me borrow her copy of "the guru papers" while I was still blissed out from my encounter with joel kramer and diana alstad at yoga journal conference. does anyone want to start a yoga book club? ;)
